Who am I?

There is an old saying in my hometown,
Tak kenal maka tak sayang
which means if you don’t know who I am, you will not be able to love me.

So I will tell you about myself.

I am Veena Salim, an adventurer from a developing country (Indonesia) who is currently studying at a developed country (Singapore). As a sophomore in Bioengineering field, I enjoy and suffer a lot at the same time.

I love my major. Even though it is not my first choice when I registered to NUS, I strongly believe that I will not regret it. I have this little dream that I never told anyone before, someday I would like to make a breakthrough in medical devices world and donate my invention to small cities in Indonesia as my contribution to my country.

I will talk more about my suffering in my first post in the next few days. A sneak peak into it, it is about my communication skill.

I have traveled to some parts of the world — Ukraine,an eye-opening country, and Iran, a religious country. I went there not only for a holiday trip, but for Astronomy competition. Yes. Stars, constellations, galaxies, planets, meteors. Magnificent! I can spend my whole night looking at the sky and observing those objects with naked eyes or telescope. I love stargazing!

To fulfill my curiosity (which I inherited from my mom), I have ever tried various activities such as photography, cooking, and crafting. However, I don’t really strive to master one of them.

According to my friends, teachers and colleagues, I am a peaceful and cheerful girl. I never get angry with anyone. Well, I can’t say that it’s 100% correct. Whenever I get angry with someone, I will just forget it in the next 1 or 2 minutes. Then I do my favorite activity, SMILE 🙂

When I relived my past memories, I realized that I have gone through a lot of things in my life.
I know, new experiences are waiting for me down the road.
All I have to do is brace myself and enjoy the great journey ahead!
